Vaccination against shingles

Feb 25, 2026

Older people with reduced immunity are at risk of developing shingles. The shingles vaccine can help prevent infection. From 2027, the vaccination will be reimbursed for people aged 60 and over. This does not yet apply for 2026. There is also no reimbursement for people of other ages. The exception is people who have a specific condition.

However, you can get a shingles vaccination at your own expense. For full vaccination, you need two injections, which together cost approximately €400. You can order these from the pharmacy. At our practice, you can make an appointment with the doctor’s assistant to have the injections administered. You will also have to pay for these two injections yourself. The total cost is €50.
